Police have hailed the woman’s bravery.
They said she would be nominated for the president’s gallantry award.

Compare to how she would be treated around here.

that seems an odd comment, how do you think the US would treat a 21 year old girl who beat down two terrorists who broke into her house, and killed one with his own gun?

Protracted legal battle along with trumped up civil suit from the terrorists family for wrongful death?

She would be arrested, released on bail, and fired from her job.  Because company policy is to fire anyone charged with a felony.  After six months or so a grand jury would refuse to return a true bill.  Then she might get her job back, maybe.

They toss around the word "terrorist" in the article, but what makes the intruder a terrorist? It sounded a lot more like a routine B&E that went wrong. Except for a couple of states in the US without "shall retreat" laws, what she did would get her arrested. Like Scotty said, a civil suit is pretty much assured. Even if you "win" both, you are still out at least $20k for council, possibly 10 times that.

Well, that was surreal. Well written and subtle gothic comedy. Me likes...

Routine breaking and entering doesn't usually involve guys asking you to hole them up for the night, and this sort of thing happens a lot in that area.
