The BF has his .45 black powder pistol loaded on his side of the bed, while I have my .22 single shot pistol on mine. Not that we would ever need it living in the town we live in, but its really for when Zombies happen so, you know. Better safe and all that.

How are you going to remember the rules, and always double tap the zombies, with a single shot?

6 shots in my BP pistol. For repelling pirate borders. But I don't keep it loaded by the bedside, it's way too humid for that in Florida. We are allowed modern arms around here.

Poverty was my best home defense, and sort of still is, but God Damn it if anyone takes my mac I'll kill them.

Part of the joy of living in a small overwhelmingly White community is that violent crime and break-ins are almost non-existent! The police blotter in my town consists of DUI, DUI, counterfeit bill, domestic disturbance, DUI, public intoxication, DUI, and so on.

Unless you're a certified Yakuza, you just can't have a handgun in Japan, so I have a big Maglite and a wrist rocket next to a box of .495 lead balls. If you're close enough to laugh at them, then you're in range.

I live in a gated community, but it really isn't necessary in this area the way it was when I lived in California. The town is over 90% White and there is no major city nearby with a ghetto. Most of the Mexicans live in a squalid trailer park on the edge of town and the city is making life very uncomfortable for the owner and residents of the park. There are fewer than 25 negro residents, and I suspect most negros stay here for a very short period of time before moving on.

Not true. People below the poverty line suffer from much higher crime rates of almost all types than people above the poverty line. Truth is, crackheads are usually too lazy to shuffle over to the other side of the tracks to get their next $20.

The only thing different about the Nips is that they think rape is the womans fault. Violent crime is quite prevelant there; most goes unreported but it still exists.
Could you have possibly thought that the human condition didn't apply to that particular island?

I lived in South Orange County. At one time Sofie, Fluffy and I (along with a few others) lived in the same general area. One night Fluffy posted what she was wearing and which hot spot she was going to that evening. Had the 5 freeway not been such a mess right then, and had I been inclined to do so, I could have driven a few miles, walked up to her, and said, "Hi, I'm Fnord." Before that I lived in Santa Barbara for many years.

Rape is never reported in Japan unless it involves serious injury and while they are a much more docile society those numbers are far from the actual truth.

Crime in Japan is not usually officially reported until the Police already knows who did it and have them in custody. Their crime "solving" rates usually hover just under 100% for even property crimes. Government statistics are never the truth.

And that only happens in Japan? Everyone manipulates numbers for their gain; those were from Taiwan. Even if Japan has 20X more crime than those figures, it’s still safer than the US.

The problem is that Japan is all about Face, every citizen in that country would rather suffer extreme humiliation and injury than lose Face.
I have friends there that freely admit (under the influence of alcohol) that they've been date-raped 2 or 3 times....it's really sad.
