So what do all our peace loving members of High-Street think about this?

The Obama administration has quietly forged ahead with its proposal to sell $60 billion worth of fighter jets and attack helicopters to Saudi Arabia unhampered by Congress, despite questions raised in legislative inquiries and in an internal congressional report about the wisdom of the deal.

I think he is doing exactly what every other US president has done; pimp armaments around the world.

Of course the British, French, Germans, Italians, Spanish, Russians, Finns, Israelis, Norwegians, Chinese, Koreans (N*S), etc. would never dirty their hands with the Arms Trade.

Guns, outselling Tractors.  Who would of thought?

Damn him and his capitalism, we should be more socialist - like the republicans.   Instead of encouraging arms deals we should nationalize those companies, just like Bush did with Chrysler and GM.

The best part is that as soon as relations with the Saudis go south, the planes start to degrade quickly and soon become all but useless.  Witness what the Persians do with all the high tech aircraft we sold them:

and what Sadaam did with his US aircraft at the start of the first Gulf war.

You may be correct.  That was the way it was taught to me.

Sounds like repubs trying to pimp the agenda that endangering allies by denying them direct military aid during fucking wartime is patriotic and sane so long as Obama can be cast as unable to aid endangered allies.

Well yeah, but the Norwegians are tired of being left out in the cold, in the last few years their militarized gunboats have become prized by African security forces. They have special appointed business consulars who are their to help you order yours with just the right amount of militarization so you can pass export controls and still quickly bolt on your grey market armament.
