The REALLY creepy thing about Duane Hanson's work is that if you look at it, and absorb it...in a few days, years, whatever, you start seeing it everywhere, in the faces of strangers you meet. You see people sitting in an airport, and think, "jesus, they look like a Duane Hanson." He was weird and brilliant at the same time, capturing that sort of blank anomie that us cruelsters love.

I was fascinated with those things in the 80s. Actually, what 'reality' needs is a saccharin gloss from Jeff Koons.
