I wouldn't call them "gaffs". He is just a regular guy who happens to be uncountably rich and unable to be fired from his position. Why waste all of that time being tactful and kissing ass and worrying about political correctness (which the Brits have turned into a national lietmotif) when he can kick back and tell it like he sees it?
