If the lab comes up negative, does that mean the cop was wrong? No, it's science that is fallible!
"Yeah, that's what they said," Ebner replied. "The test results were wrong, and also, if I had a urine test, it would have come back positive for drugs."
But Katelyn got her own urine test the same week as her arrest -- scanning for any metabolites that would still be in her system. The urine test was also negative for marijuana -- or other drugs.

NEW BRUNSWICK -- A fire official who was barred from driving city vehicles after hitting three kids walking home from school three years ago has recorded his 20th accident, the city confirmed Friday.
The accident happened last week while the fire director, Robert Rawls, was driving his city-owned SUV three months after being allowed to drive city vehicles again, according to NBC News.
Rawls pleaded guilty to careless driving in 2014 in connection with an accident that injured children in a crosswalk. As part of his plea deal, he was fined $206.
Shortly after the accident, Rawls' driving history over the last decade, which included 19 accidents and multiple speeding tickets, became public. Rawls also has had his license suspended 18 times, according to previous reports.

But seriously, civil forfeiture is the kind of thing that, if happening in another country, would cause us to boycott their government, but the domestic version is AOK with the local politicians who just see $$ from the free money machine and state/fed level politicians who are more than happy to criminalize untraceable cash in order to force people into more traceable and taxable forms of financial transfer.
I was recently in India and they just went through a nee-plus-ultra version of this, with the government declaring that all current large denomination bills in circulation as illegal, only allowing them to be deposited into banks and traded for ATM cards. India has a simple method of taxation: It just taxes a certain percentage of every dollar deposited into your account each year, regardless of source. So if you sell a car or a load of rice or just get paid back by your brother in law, all of that is taxed. The banks do the calculation, remove the money from your account and remit it to the central government. All the banks have apps so you can pay someone easily from your phone. So, obviously, lots of people live in the cash economy, just like here. So India tried to combat this by essentially declaring any bill over $20 (cost of living adjusted, the real bills were worth less than $10 USD) invalid and everyone had 30 days to deposit them all or anybody found holding them would be arrested and all money confiscated. I'm sure the idea made US legislators delirious with jealousy.
