Firearms manufacturers have given up on hunting guns; it's all "tactical", i.e. guns to shoot people with, nowdays. "Tactical" knives, "tactical" pens, for shit sake.
Back in the 1960's, American Rifleman and Guns and Ammo and others often featured articles on safety and responsible citizenship. WTF happened? I sure as shit wish I'd saved the American Rifleman issue, roughly 1990, where a writer actually said "why does anyone need a magazine with more than 10 rounds?"
THAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED. About that time, the fucking NRA was almost fucking rational. But, the hard liners staged a revolution and fucked us all.

Nothing to get excited about, it's just a matter of changing demographics and customer bases. As the country becomes less rural and more urban, and as wilderness areas shrink, the number of hunters is slowly decreasing. On the other hand, there's a fap-violent Rambo-wannabe idiot born every minute.
