This is a favorite tactic of the C.E.O. and chairman of A.M.I., David Pecker

Yes, I read that yesterday with a certain amount of schadenfreude, hoping that it gets back to Trump.  I didn't post it here because the problem is that it's a mostly subjective survey.  I do love that the Republicans ranked Trump 40th.

No real surprise here but Trump's stance and the perception that he sympathized with those espousing white supremacy has enabled the need to Make America Hate Again.

Completely unclear on the concept.

Many if not most of these shooters have proven to be suicidal.  So they attack one classroom - kill the armed teacher first and then mow down 30 students.  Stupid idea from a stupid group of people - you can't deter "sicko's" you idiot.

Not to mention if you harden one target sufficiently, they will simply switch targets. Next it will be a crowded supermarket, or a swimming pool full of children on a hot summer day. Note the Las Vegas shooter; the world is one endless target.

If more guns made us safer we would have LESS gun death, not more. The numbers don't lie.

Also people who have not been trained to kill have a hard time shooting someone.  How many home invasions started out as grab and runs and ended up as homicides when the home owner couldn't close the deal but the burglar(s) could?

Meanwhile everyone wants a "Luxury Weapon" (M-16/AK-47) as their second amendment right - yet we deny them Main Battle Tanks.  Why is that?

Tanks are great for Turkey hunting...

...the absurdity is always there, it's just a question of where you draw that line.

I blame the Post Civil War / WWI eras and beyond.  You could own any weapon made during the Civil War.  Even a cannon or a Gatling gun.

President Bone Spur finds his courage, and a grateful nation breathes a sigh of relief.

Trump says he would have run into Florida school without a weapon

President Donald Trump said Monday that he would have charged into a Florida school during the shooting there earlier this month even if he were unarmed.

"I really believe I’d run in there even if I didn’t have a weapon," Trump told governors meeting at the White House to discuss school safety...

He has never been in any sort of like situation so he's talking out of his ass.  I've seen hardened warriors freeze and luckily it's never happened to me; I've also seen those same hardened warriors exhibit bravery again at the next situation.  All we have here is Trump once again proving he knows nothing and is happy to prove that point with his mouth over and over again.

For the record I don't think about these specific deputies because I don't understand how to think about them and how think about how they reacted to what was in front of them.  What they should have done is unquestioned; what President Trump or any other would do is pure BS until they've actually done it.  I know from experience how I "most likely" would have reacted, but even that is still conjecture.

Trump just needs to learn when to shut the fuck up.

Just another milestone on America losing it's global position in Soft Power.  As State Department jobs are left unfilled or filled with Trump cronies, you can expect the downward trend to continue.  The 18 month window is rapidly closing on the Trump Presidency as the Midterms loom and he'll soon be running for President again.  One wonders why he'd even want to be President of the dumpster fire that awaits in 2021.

At least the stupid bitch knows how to act Presidential.  And, I'm sure she wouldn't have been the only President who was an accessory to several murders.  We can only hope that the DNC sat up and took notice that there are some people that even we can't stomach.  Then again, I've heard rumblings that John Kerry may be running again, so, who knows.

Hillary was much stronger than either of you suggest (my opinion only, of course) but she was (is) a god-awful lousy salesperson, who was so bad at selling her own actually-quite-remarkable-skill-set, that she allowed a bunch of bastards with an agenda to define her instead. You think those thousands of hours of programming about Benghazi didn't get in and change your opinions of her? You're wrong. The truth is that trashing someone works, even when we know it's going on, and even when we think we're immune (and too smart) to be influenced by such things.

I remember comments like "She's possibly the best qualified person to ever run for president." and the weren't just blowing smoke when they said it. She was an extremely smart, well qualified and accomplished politician, whose primary problem was the fact that she was a terrible campaigner.

Trump was a naturally talented campaigner; you happier with him?

But another thing about Hillary; since she was the heir apparent after losing narrowly to Obama, the opposition had eight years to do character assassination and run oppo research before they had to face her, and they made good use of their time and advance warning. Lesson; don't let them see you coming. In fact; that was one of Obama's strong suits. By the time they figured out who Obama was and how to counter him, he was already running the country.

I didn't vote for either. I did a write in.  I could not pull the lever for Hillary... A client who was a Bernie delegate told me about the convention, and it so infuriated me, I decided not to support the Dems.  I enjoyed Trump fucking with the GOP candidates in the debate, such great theatre.

I have been an independent for years, but lean far, far left past the two rightist parties in this country.  Hell, I could hardly support Labour back when.

I yearn for a Parliamentary System with multiple parties, how much more fun would that be with having to build coalitions, etc.  Well, not in this lifetime.

You and me both. I think the flaws in our rather archaic system of government are on vivid display now, and I'm not sure we can ever go back to the old gentlemen's agreement which allowed us to paper over and ignore the systemic shortcomings for so long.

For one thing, the framers of the Constitution failed to predict how the nation would become primarily urban, and our Constitution gives rural voters vastly greater representation than their urban counterparts (a North Dakota resident has about forty times more representative clout in the Senate than a Californian, for example, and similarly greater representation when picking presidents).

In America, increasingly, the farmers call the shots, and the majorities in the cities suffer with the consequences. That's not a formula for success in the highly competitive 21st Century landscape.

https://www.cnbc.com/2018/03/07/stormy- … money.html

I defy you to come up with a strategy which is better than the one Trump/Cohen chose for:

1. Keeping this story in the news everyday, and

2. Convincing people to an extraordinarily high level of certainty of Trump's guilt.

Given that Trump is a narcissist who thrives on any attention (negative or positive seems less important) it's actually possible that he's okay with the situation. Let Melania twist in the wind; that absurd little shit head has slept with Stormy Danials!

https://media.giphy.com/media/xULW8wi4T9dcL3XHm8/giphy.gif

One has to feel a little sorry for Cohen having to ride with the absurd idea that Trump and Danials had no relationship, but he paid her $130.000 anyway (out of his own pocket, no less) to keep quiet about that which never happened. And then I remember that the clown has worked for Trump for years, and I think, fuck him. I hope Trump stiffs him on the $130,000.
