You notice that Texas doesn't have hardly any except for being abnormally dry around Amarillo, El Paso, and south of Corpus Christi.
Check back in 6 - 8 months for a drastic change.

There will be rain when the gods will it.
But it is also part of the reason us great plains natives are so weather obsessive...
