A beautiful story of renewal and faith. Lovely, Sofie. That was lovely.

The fact that the first one just launches on its own creates a satanic cacophony when you try  to watch the second movie.  Awesome.

An uplifting salvation story, like that of Marion Barry and others who have risen from the abyss to reach for the puckerstars.

It all starts out so innocently with the bunny suit when you are young. But as the sequence of the 3 pictures above shows, it always leads to the harder stuff. Let this be a lesson kids, avoid oblique pagan symbols.

Aw, fuck those pussies!  That's nothing but rope, it's not even tight--they've even got a fucking platform to rest their widdle feets on.

Nails, people.  Big railspikey fucking nails.  And a gaping weeping wound down your side, and vinegar to drink during.  You stay that way for six hours, and then I might take you seriously.

Pssssh.

I am back here on the net amongst the living and the rest of you merely waiting to die. 4 frigging satellite domes, 2 as big as an automobile and not one which can surf the tubes of the internets at any speed faster then a 1992 modem. It was like living in the dark ages for weeks. I had twitches and tremors from net withdrawal. There really is no need to live this way anymore. The newer satellite systems bring affordable 3 mbps internet to anywhere on the planet except the poles. As long as your apps can tolerate about 600ms of latency you can surf the globe now.

I would catch myself sometimes just launching my browser to stare at the blank window. Dreaming all along of my favorite places on the web. It was strangely comforting at those times in absentia to think of all you high streeters whooping it up.

Yes, one would think it would be a joy to be unplugged for awhile. But it is a hard habit to shake. Harder then cigarettes were for me. And even harder to run a business without it, let alone a love affair. The good people of the world just can't tolerate the time it takes to have an email response delayed by even a few hours.  You reflexively miss it when its gone.

But if you insist I will book you passage on the next boat going to the Islands of St Peter and St Paul.

Actually it would be interesting to visit, but I would need drugs and camping equipment for the long haul stay, knowing that I might get marooned.

yes, close quarters, and then you too could be a footman for one of the few thousand who hold all the marbles. It is their world we only live in it, or so some like to think.

Odd that there's no sat footage at that location

Glad to hear you're back in the land of the band Johnny, though there's not a day goes by that I don't dream about a 60' motorsailor and fuck the net.

I'm also available for crew, as long as it's lateen rigged and not much larger than a surfboard.  Sigh.

Don't worry Opsec, if you can sail a dingy you can sail a 200 foot tall superyacht. The physics are the same, it just hurts more when you fuck up.

Yeah that island is right in the midst of the spot beam footprint, but we only had Sat B systems. They promise 56 kbps but deliver 9.6 if you are lucky. Nothing like modern Vsat performance.

I'm off for 2 weeks sailing around Belize soon.  It's only 2 weeks, but there will be no net, as we have chosen not to give a fuck.

I am sure I'll be twitching at some point in my journey.  I will miss the ability to rub in my locale via status update on Facebook.   I'll be glad to just have enough juice to recharge my camera batteries.  I am scared at the amount of email I may come back to.  Ugh.

Don't worry, people these days can't handle if you do not email them back within a few hours.  But they go through the 5 stages of email grief very quickly. 2 weeks will result in a steadily slacking of email input. After they get over being miffed at you they will soon give up and accept that you have left them behind for clear warm water, bikinis and sun. Enjoy the blessed silence on the wavelengths.

This may be the longest I go without technology.  I wonder if I will be able to get any access on any of the islands.  haha, as if.
