Maybe it's time I cut back a little.
More than 90,000 babies were physically abused or neglected and about 500 were killed in the United States in 2006, health officials said on Thursday.

the report found that more than 2.3 percent of infants up to age 1 suffered substantiated nonfatal maltreatment
In other words . . . while less than 2.4 percent of all infants were found to have experienced substandard care, more than 3.8 million babies were adequately cared for in safe and positive environments.
