Ford really did hit a home run with the Mustang...  They made a good looking car with some honest to goodness street credentials, made it roomy, affordable and useful enough to be a daily driver....  The only thing I dislike about it is its popularity, it loses a bit of its appeal when you can't drive a block without seeing at least two of them.....

Yeah, it's a concept, but supposedly Venturi is going to actually make the Volage.
http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc263/jesusluvspegging/venturi_volage_live_paris_006-1002-.jpg

Each motor outputs 55kW and 232Nm of torque. The dashboard features an LCD touchscreen panel that allows the driver to control the amount of power delivered to the wheels to help extend the driving range.

The Volage is capable of accelerating from 0-62mph in less than five seconds and can reach a top speed of close to 160mph. The driving range is an estimated 200 miles on a single charge.

According to Venturi, the Volage will enter production in 2012.

Powered by four of these bad motherfuckers, presumably hooked up to some kind of bank of supercapacitors.

I once drove 3000 miles in a month for work and once 1100 miles in 5 days, and that's why I refuse to do so ever again. I don't give a crap what the price of gas is, 6 lanes of "freeway" at a standstill every working day has got to stop.

But how to stop it? I've ridden the London Underground at morning rush time, and that's fucked up too, let alone Tokyo. But, humans continue to breed like bacteria.

Where will it end? An epidemic? World nuclear war? Really, we're pretty much fucked.

Happy Holidays to all.

It's actually Highway 1 just North of Bodega Bay....    Here's a map showing the exact curve...  http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&saddr=3 … 8&t=h&z=14

Zoom in on the map close enough and you'll see this inlet straight to the East of the curve....  Northern California is beautiful...

The automobile is the ultimate expression of Western philosophy...  It gives us the freedom to go any place we want anytime we want....  If we want to move someplace to better our lives we use an automobile, if we want to stretch out, relax and enjoy nature's beauty we use an automobile to get there...  The automobile has such a massive impact on our lives that the largest infrastructure project in the history of the world is the U.S. interstate system..... I can honestly say that the most peaceful and satisfying moments I've experienced have been behind the wheel of a car....  Cars are all about sex, beauty and adventure, everything else in life is a waste of time.....

Why, thank you, Dirck.   High praise, indeed.

I've owned over 60 English cars over the years, but I've settled to just these three in my collection because they comprise my three main areas of automotive interest - vehicles that represent economy/practicality, sporting spirit and sedate luxury.   The Sunbeam is a brilliant performer and has the largest boot (trunk) of any British sports car, so it's great for getting away for a weekend.  The Morris gets over 34 mpg and runs flawlessly so it's perfect for the wife's shopping or for a weekend away at the shore.   And the Triumph Renown is a lovely, smooth running, soft riding car to take to an evening at the theater or to a Sunday picnic along the river, and it isn't as ostentatious as a Rolls or a Bentley (though a great part of it was made by the same folks).
