The fucking White Stripes SUCK!  It's only a matter of time before we see those two having an inbred love child and pimping it in their videos.

Doubtful that two people who are not related except by defunct marriage could have an inbred love child together.

This was always my favorite Sigur Ros song.  It took me a while to find it, though, since I can never remember the names of any of the songs.  I couldn't find a real video, just some art project.  It's from the album Von, called Hún Jörð...

I love the lie and lie the love
A-Hangin' on, with push and shove
Possession is the motivation
that is hangin' up the God-damn nation
Looks like we always end up in a rut (everybody now!)
Tryin' to make it real - compared to what? C'mon baby!

Slaughterhouse is killin' hogs
Twisted children killin' frogs
Poor dumb rednecks rollin' logs
Tired old lady kissin' dogs
I hate the human love of that stinking mutt (I can't use it!)
Try to make it real - compared to what? C'mon baby now!

The President, he's got his war
Folks don't know just what it's for
Nobody gives us rhyme or reason
Have one doubt, they call it treason
We're chicken-feathers, all without one nut. God damn it!
Tryin' to make it real - compared to what? (Sock it to me)

Church on Sunday, sleep and nod
Tryin' to duck the wrath of God
Preacher's fillin' us with fright
They all tryin' to teach us what they think is right
They really got to be some kind of nut (I can't use it!)
Tryin' to make it real - compared to what?

Where's that bee and where's that honey?
Where's my God and where's my money?
Unreal values, crass distortion
Unwed mothers need abortion
Kind of brings to mind ol' young King Tut (He did it now)
Tried to make it real - compared to what?!

Tryin' to make it real - compared to what?

39 years old and sounds like it could have been written yesterday.

Tojo... Les gave the best performance I've ever seen... 32 years ago at a small club in Denver called Ebbets Field. I sat close enough to touch him. I was surprised just now read he's still alive and still performing.

I have been fortunate to enjoy Airto & Flora several times in venues that were damn near perfect.  One was in Sacramento, CA, called [The] Tower [possibly].

Yeah, he's yet another in the long list of musicians that I've discovered recently and been shocked that I'd never heard of.

I don't think it was intentional, but somehow the garbled video works for this song.  It's so mellow...

Rent or find this for your kids - it will teach them something.

Or, if you like, for yourself - but get nice and high first as it then becomes quite facinating indeed.

Another great song....I met these guys back in '78, (yeah, I was all over the place back then)  I got them to sign my Talking Heads t-shirt when I saw them in Davis...this was when you could go to a "record" store and meet bands....

and a lot later....

and a little something Kate did with some guy named Iggy....

I also got to see him in Davis with Ivan Kral (Patti Smith Group) Brian James (the Damned)  Glen Matlock (original Sex Pistols) and I can't remember who else was in the band....Iggy jacked off for the crowd, he has a really big dick....

Raul Duke was baked, crushed and shot out of a cannon on August 20, 2005 and good riddance

Countless imposters appropriated Hunter Thompson's nom de guerra, just as hacks in my day assumed the names of Mark Twain characters. Might as well steal from the best when you learn a trade.

Our Raul Duke, if I'm not mistaken, still walks and talks among us.
