Well she's certainly no Cindy McCain.  That woman knows how to make a $300,000 outfit look like a million bucks.

The way I see it, the good old days are back.  Once again I have the license to criticize the pres for any and all mistakes, fumbles, and illegal acts.  Although I doubt Barry will be as colorful as Bill was in his prime.

Yeah but we don't claim you have to support OMG TEH PREZIDENT RITE OR RONG like y'all do.  We're assholes, not hypocrites.

okay okay.  Let's not bait Phwedd to much, even though lord knows his pimply ass deserves it.   ~ I can remember his victory march along Benzie (I am Michael Savage's Fijian LUV Slave) after the 2004 mess, I mean fair and un-tampered with election.  (Thanks Ohio!)... Anyhoo, old Rush Turdbaugh said he doesn't support the President, and won't.  Fine.  Phwedd is our very own, and frankly I want to keep him snuggly close in the coming months.  Take his temp, feel his pulse, check to see if he is breathing.

Don't listen to Dusty.  I'm betting Obama has installed enough Chicago thugs and Clintonistas into the Capitol to provide endless spot fires.  Meanwhile the he'll be flogged for any and all centrism he displays by the far left because, after all, they're the ones who brought him to the party.

Whew. Whatta day. I actually teared up during the Inaugural address, and as my family will loudly attest, I *never* cry.

As night falls, I think we should all reflect on these words of wisdom from the Rev. Joseph Lowery:

help us work for that day
when black will not be asked to give back,
when brown can stick around,
when yellow will be mellow,
when the red man can get ahead, man,
and when white will embrace what is right.

Can I get an "amen?"

That kinda looks bad on old CJ's resume... Thankfully, this measure never passed, as I am sure he probably never was much of a dancer:

Oh, I was home alone so there was no reason to hold back.

There was a moment, just before Obama stepped out of the alcove, in the seconds before the public could see his face...his expression was indescribable.

But when he got to the part of his speech where he said (pardon my poor memory), "We reject the notion that we must sacrifice liberty for safety," I admit, I fucking lost it.

Whatever comes after today--and a lot of the future's going to suck, no matter what--today felt great.  I have savored it.

It's just gotten ridiculous with all of the people trying to capitalize on the new presidency.  I got an email today from a company that I bought a PowerShell book from with the subject: "Technology Change You Can Believe In + 35% off any purchase".

A Libertarian pledge, hardly Socialistic.........

We Believe in the rights of individual citizens to live their own lives, manage their own affairs, business, and economy however they choose, so long as those choices are peaceful, honest, and do not infringe upon the rights of others.
We Deny any right to government and its agencies to dictate by force, coercion or edict over the lives, affairs, business, or economy of peaceful and honest citizens.
We Understand the power of government to be the most costly and inefficient means of accomplishing the goals of a civilized society, and that whenever possible, this power should be limited to the minimum necessary, and never more.
We Observe a government which is overly expanded, overly invasive, and out of control at all levels; unable to manage its own affairs or even balance its own budgets, and yet determined to expand and invade ever more into those of its citizens.
We Seek to reverse this process.
We Desire in all particular questions and issues to reduce the invasive powers and mismanagement of government, and thereby to reduce its cost and burden on society.
We Recognize the first obligation of government is never to its own systems, processes, nor powers, but rather only to the protection of the freedom and liberty of its citizens, and the maintenance of their powers.
We Dedicate ourselves to that liberty.

Well, just to see the backside of Mr. Bush and Co. is good enough for me.  If Mr. O can accomplish 1/2 of his "promises"... would be just fine for me.  My son who became politically aware due to 9/11 (he is 18 now) and its aftermath said yesterday "It's like someone has lifted a shadow, we have lived so long with this."  I thought was an interesting observation.

I'm sorry, it was just incredibly exciting to be standing with a group of rowdy first, second and third graders..all of them fooling around and the assistant principal mouthing the word "shit!" to the audio visual people because the sound was spotty.. until the president elect stepped forward on the dais..and a hush fell over this insane crowd of kids who don't ever get enough of anything, and a little kid whispered next to me to another guy with a pencil up his nose who talking... "SHUT UP MAN!!  THAT'S OUR PRESIDENT!!"

And it was silent. For maybe just an instant. But it was fucking silent as he spoke.

I got chills. It was fucking amazing. i don't care if Obama never accomplishes jackshit, he's already broken through the fog.

Amazing...

You don't get it. The Sheeple have been told that Obama is great, therefor he is.

Whatever they say on that there television, yep that's the truth!!!!!

I can't imagine anyone crying at a presidential inauguration.... so easily lead....

Notice "the news" is now telling us, "wait, the economy is looking up!!!". Wow? That Obama works fast!!! Apparently they didn't see the 700 point drop yesterday.

Yeah, I almost cried. I almost cried at the chants of "OH-BA-MAH" once I realized how similar they sound to the chants by mindless followers of religious zealots around the world. Coincidence? I think not.

This is the scary but amazing truth.

Bush can be blamed for anything and everything bad that happened, a vast majority of which wasn't his fault. Bush gets no credit for anything positive that happened during his presidency (record low unemployment, record markets, etc)...

Obama, on the other hand, could have the country collapse on his watch and his mindless followers will say, "I don't care, he's still better than Bush!!!! GOD BLESS OBAMA!!! OH-BA-MA, OH-BA-MA..."

The easily-lead are appeased. It should be a fun 4 years.
