What about being a student chef helped him "get" that?

Perhaps, it was a protest against 'patrons only' restrooms. Otherwise, couldn't he have just gone back outside? I suppose convenience food establishments have seen Americans at their worst.

He was just demonstrating his advanced knowledge of cross contamination theory that he studied at Hamburger U.
