While any banned book is an affront to liberty and freedom, you gotta admit that our Library system is the most perfect governmental system that we have. It's cheap: less than the rounding errors on most county budgets, non-political: as the low rate of actual bans as well as the broad variety of books at your typical library, and well staffed by competent employees that are actually helpful: the DMV could learn something here.

As a bit of an anarchist and a dedicated libertarian (small 'L'), the library system is the one governmental function that I refuse to fuck with.

I checked out the organizations linked with the author - the American Values Institute and Spence Publishing. The AVI is precisely what you think it is, and it's deeply, profoundly concerned with people's sex lives while Spence Publishing includes Phyllis Schlafley among its stable of authors. Friends of Phred's, perhaps?
