I am sure that the government will let the poker games go on once they figure out how to regulate it enough to get their cut. Fill out some forms, pay some "permit" fees, collect some taxes, and they will be happy. Look at the Indian reservations. On one hand it is a "sovereign nation" where regular US laws don't apply. But you still have to pay taxes on money you win there, even if it never leaves the reservation.
