So, I run two monitors. Just had to buy a new monitor 4k HDMI Samsung. Lovely piece of equipment... the other "Monitor is actually a Vizio 4K TV 40 inch that I use for intense graphic work
I ordered a cable HDMI 4k to Display Port. Neither of the monitors show any recognition...
The old monitor had the ancient vga/svga set up. Well, the new monitor is HDMI, and the system has only one HDMI port. I need to run the second monitor, which is HDMI as well. Can a splitter work, and run as 2 separately?
Thanks,
Dusty

I'm thinking a splitter would just display the same thing on both monitors. Monitor 1 needs a different signal than Monitor 2.

So, two options.
1. Step your HDMI down to VGA through a resolution converter. I've done it, I don't really like how it looks.
2. Blow up your "one HDMI port" PC and buy a new one.

Dusty, email or message me. I will sort this out, we do it all the time at work, and know what will suffice for little cost.
