United Airlines recently shot down one traveler’s request to bring her emotional support peacock on a flight departing Newark Liberty International Airport.

Further, as of March, Delta will not allow exotic emotional support animals including ferrets, insects, spiders, goats or animals with tusks or hooves to fly.

Did you know that it is perfectly legal to slaughter peacocks for food?

Cranberry growers went herbicidal crazy in the 50s and by the end of the decade bought themselves the nation's first ever coast-to-coast poison crop recall... along with the associated cancer deaths of several of my neighbors. Our shore birds were thoroughly fucked, all except winged-rat sea gulls. In response, many of our grieving summer folk began to raise exotics, colorful pheasants mostly. I found one on the beach when I was ten, mauled by gulls and breathing its last. I plucked, gutted and roasted it away from prying eyes. Best meal ever, before or after.
