Nothing to do with the article, but it drives me batshit crazy when websites for local news outlets make it nearly impossible to tell what state they are located in. Nothing in the article, banner or footer identifies the state. That makes sense when you are printing on fish wrapper for general delivery, but this is the intertubes.

There's only one Plattsburgh, in upstate NY, but your point is well taken. Most of today's remaining 'newspapers' are mega-corp affiliates, share their servers, wire service feeds, art, advertising resources and administration. They also tend to look identical, especially online, because they are identical. For thieving public servants, this is the best of times.

VA clinics have implemented practices like yoga, meditation and acupuncture as alternatives to opioids. But activists like Nick Etten, a former Navy SEAL and the founder and director of the Veterans Cannabis Project, believe medical marijuana can help. "We see cannabis not as a gateway drug," Etten said. "We see it as an exit path off opiates."

I quit smoking chronically when my first kid was born...20 years ago, now I have just endured 2 years of crippling back pain while waiting for fusion surgery which I just got 2 weeks ago...during the last 2 years oxys were my best friend...not a lot..1.5-2 a day so I could sleep more than 20 minutes at a time. Now it's time to kick them to the curb, at the recommendation of a friend I jumped on the mail-order flower bandwagon up here in capitalist Canuckistan..no medical card...just prove that I'm over 19 and away we go with an electronic money transfer, 2 days later I had a double vacuum packed sample pack of 8 different strains totalling  an OZ delivered to my door by Canada Post...all for 150 bucks...now to find the right one out of this selection to help wean me off the evil opioids...gotta love Canada !

I feel bad for Charles because he thinks that horse faced Camilla is a good looking woman.

I've wondered for years what Charles will do when the Queen finally does die; abdicate in favor of William or spite his mother and take the crown.

So a 1/2 oz of leaf turns into 1.01 kilos of narcotic when mixed with butter?

Under that same logic there is at least a pound of liquid in the bottom of my bong.

First, they are estimating the value of the drugs at $23-$70 an oz, much lower than it would actually street for, even in Norway. In the US that would have been $1 million dollars...

Secondly, for moving 50 lbs of weed he would have had a 20 year sentence here in Floridistan, not 4 years, bumped down to 2 because they don't want to change his Depends at the jail. He would have died in prison in most of the US.

Aerosol inhalers, like those prescribed for asthmatics, are what I expected to see fifty years ago. Failing to deliver immediate gratification will doom any delivery system.

An annual development fee of $300,000 or 3 percent, whichever is higher, of both the recreational and medical sales will be assessed along with an annual impact fee of $50,000.

Ms. Craver said the more than $100 million project will also bring substantial revenue from permitting fees, as well as all applicable real estate and property taxes.

If all goes as planned, the developer will also pay $500,000 to the town to be put toward constructing a new Public Safety Building.

See, as long as the city fathers get the payoff, it's a done deal. Still 1/2 a percent up front and 0.3% ongoing is a pretty good "impact fee". Just don't expect the town to stay satisfied with that in the long term. Once they have the goose, they are going to squeeze it all day long.

Money, like drugs, builds a hell of a tolerance over time...

It's still a helluva lot more profitable than paying penitentiary costs for two-bit pot dealers, and the hilarious part is that "Public Safety Building" usually translates into "Cop Shop".

Maybe if they grow enough pot to raise enough taxes, they can put in a gym with some nice saunas and the cops will want to spend all their time there instead of out hassling folks.
