"I explained we're a family-run business, we have two young, impressionable daughters and we thought maybe it was best not to expose them to the visible symbol of God's covenant with the world ," said co-owner David Stockton.
Fnord, they can make that claim, but I doubt anyone will believe them. If I'm ever in town, I'll go in and place a huge order, then say "OH, aren't you the ones who refused that order because you thought gays would corrupt your daughters if you made rainbow cookies? Never mind."

When I was planning my wedding years ago, I was fortunate not to run into homophobic bullshit like this. Had a photographer, videographer, cake maker, DJ, caterer, florist, or hotel for the guests given me attitude, I would have moved on. The church I attended at the time had a huge congregation, and after I informed the priest, there would no longer be referrals from this church. As over half the people I worked with were referred to me by the priest, and the rest by friends who had good experiences with them; over time any person who had given me homophobic attitude would have lost enough referrals to affect their business.
If someone doesn’t want to work with a particular client, one of the best ways to make them go away is to give them an estimate that’s way out of line with the prevailing market price for that service. I support the right of businesses and organizations not to deal with people they disapprove of, but as the Wicked Witch said: “These things must be done delicately.”

What a B. I think an effective grass roots effort would be to have people to fart in her bakery, and not buy cupcakes.

It's a euphemism.

I was referencing fortinbras' shock at finding out about the term "states' rights."
