I think this guy has appeared on Cruel, but I think he needs exposure here on
High-Street

I wish there was an interesting story behind this, but there just isn't.  It's just some mentally ill guy whose wife left him.  My guess is schizophrenia.  Other than holding a sign he doesn't do anything.

That's what I kind of figured. It is odd, since he does dress well and is well groomed; not the ususal uniform for the mentaly ill.  Plus, he doesn't rant.  I like my loonies ranting, damnit!

See, that's what I'm talking about.  He's too easy to just ignore.

A little more insight on him here.

For a while during the 1990s in NYC, there was a homeless woman who spent a great deal of time on 7th Ave just south of 23rd St. She always had her Liz Clairborne knock-off pressed (probably laid flat and slept on), make-up done, and hair [mostly] coifed, even if she spent a lot of time on her butt with a sign on the sidewalk. She wanted work, but no one in their right mind would hire her, and it was somehow sadder to see her trying in some ways, but not in others. I think it's worse when women advertise a mental illness. They're at more physical risk, and the amount of verbal abuse is usually greater.

I agree.  In actuality, most of the schizophrenic people I've met have tended to be very bright individuals with high I.Q. levels, and very often having a particularly deep knowledge in usually one clearly-defined subject area, though sometimes more than one.  That subject area becomes a 'focus area' for them - one in which they take comfort - and by micro-focusing on that area they can reduce their anexiety and stress when facing life's challenges.

For example, back when I owned an automobile restoration business, we had a fellow who would stop by each day... he would walk up to the open garage doorway and spend about 5 minutes looking down and carefully positioning his feet at the very edge of the doorway - it seemed quite important to him that the tips of his shoes were *exactly* aligned with the lip of the concrete sill (OCD often is paired with schizophrenia).  He was always neatly dressed in a brown tweed suit and a slik tie, and always carried a newspaper which was very tightly rolled under his left arm, held in the crook of his elbow, and as he stood in the doorway he would continually roll the newspaper tighter and tigher with his right hand - clearly a metaphor for his mental situation.  As he stood there rolling his paper he would commence with a perfunctory "Good Morning Mr. xxx" and then took note of whatever vintage car we were working on at the time, telling us the make, model and year, and then going into a host of very accurate details about the car - engine displacement, gear ratios, top speed, etc - and then delving the history of the manufacturer.  But as he did so, he would start to 'wander' in his tale - for example he might lead into talking about Raymond Lowey (the designer of many Studebaker cars) and then somehow the his assotiation with the Freemasons would come into it, or it might be the Communists or any other similar group, and he would weave that mixture of reality and fiction into an incredibly complicated 'grand conspiracy against the United States' diatribe, and he did it so well that an unknowing person would almost believe it.  His obvious confusion about what was real and what was not real, and his ability to mix both with what seemed to be total alacrity, is what led me to conclude he was schizophrenic.

I don't know whatever happened to that guy, but I imagine he'd be an excellent candidate for Republican spin control.

That's not a joke. I've known several political pr writers who were mental basket cases. The portrait you drew of their ability to focus was perfect.

Has anyone stopped to consider the possibility that an FBI agent is raping his wife?

I mean, these are the Bush years, and all...

No, rape is strictly subcontracted out to Halliburton.

Here's an update of this guy.  Apparently Obama is now in on the conspiracy.  Yeah, I know it's a shitty photo, but it's a camera phone.

“Honey, I’m sorry I’m late getting home.  That tall muscular hairy chested FBI agent with a mustache and huge dick dragged me into a motel room and raped me all afternoon again.”

If she was able to pull the wool over his eyes with a story like that, more power to her.
