The highest paid CEO in the country is a woman.  But, she used to be a man.  So, which sex gets to claim her accomplishments?

Last year, just $992,678 of Rothblatt's total compensation was from her base salary. She earned another $36,097,326 in option awards and $1,102,907 in non-equity incentive plan compensation. In 2012, Rothblatt made $8 million in total compensation.

The Gender Pay Gap

Before United Therapeutics, Martine helped found both GeoStar, a satellite based navigation system and Sirius Radio (SIRI), a satellite radio service. Martine Rothblatt was also a man until 1994 when she underwent sex reassignment surgery at the age of 40, so she has a unique perspective on gender in the workplace.

The person reads as male when observed. Had the conversation been about say, accounting rules, and devoid of references to gender, I would have assumed I was observing an old male yuppie. I can't imagine why s/he had the dick cut off and replaced with a tranny hole. Only a well paid gigolo would be willing to fuck this person as it's mimicry of femininity can only be described as in the piss poor to non-existent  range. It was surreal to hear this person talking about motherhood, women voting, violence against women, and THE PATRIARCHY from a "female" perspective.

This is precisely what made the story so hypocritical (and funny) to me.  It is written as though a transsexual woman being the highest paid CEO in the country is somehow a victory for women in fighting the gender pay gap.  Since she didn't have the operation until she turned 40, I guarantee "he" had already made is mark in business before switching sides.
