I hear the rumblings of a backlash building amongst my employees, people are feeling sorry for Trump and the Dem's are over-confident.  This could turn into a 24-carat shit show.

People vote their wallet.  Let's see how they feel about the RNC and DNC around September.  They might both find themselves outside looking in.

That's no more a valid marker of how individual people are doing in this modern economy than the health of the stock market.  Yeah, people are employed as grocery and retail clerks, restaurant waitstaff, and other service jobs that make them just another member of the working poor.  We don't need "jobs, jobs, jobs" we need jobs that actually allow people to independently support themselves.  I know way too many two income couples that still need to live either with one of the parents or with roommates.  I could afford my own apartment in my early 20s because my manufacturing job paid a living wage.

The steady approach of Robogeddon

I can't hire good staff right now, the barrel is empty and this blow hard Trump claims we need to speed up the economy.

But now and going forward if you aren't a rainmaker you're gonna have to slop the hogs to make ends meet.

Lately?  Donald Jackass Trump has been trying to blow rose garden smoke up the collective asses of America.  He, along with all the other ancient relics of the Republican Party are hopelessly behind the times.

We should do away with the absolutely specious notion that everybody has to earn a living. It is a fact today that one in ten thousand of us can make a technological breakthrough capable of supporting all the rest. The youth of today are absolutely right in recognizing this nonsense of earning a living. We keep inventing jobs because of this false idea that everybody has to be employed at some kind of drudgery because, according to Malthusian Darwinian theory he must justify his right to exist. So we have inspectors of inspectors and people making instruments for inspectors to inspect inspectors. The true business of people should be to go back to school and think about whatever it was they were thinking about before somebody came along and told them they had to earn a living.

“You realise where this is going,” he is quoted as saying. “This is all about money laundering. Mueller chose [senior prosecutor Andrew] Weissmann first and he is a money-laundering guy. Their path to fucking Trump goes right through Paul Manafort, Don Jr and Jared Kushner … It’s as plain as a hair on your face...”

Wolff writes that Thomas Barrack Jr, a billionaire who is one of the president’s oldest associates, allegedly told a friend: “He’s not only crazy, he’s stupid.”

Trump was born in 1946, also the year of the dog. But that is not good news for the US president, as Chinese culture predicts a year of bad fortune for anyone that shares the same zodiac sign.
People are generally told to be careful during their own zodiac year as pitfalls abound.

I did not want to share this when I first saw it, because I was sure it was a hoax.  But if it's a hoax, a lot of news outlets have been taken in.

In its entirety:
"This is the full statement from President Donald Trump responding to Steve Bannon:

Steve Bannon has nothing to do with me or my Presidency. When he was fired, he not only lost his job, he lost his mind. Steve was a staffer who worked for me after I had already won the nomination by defeating seventeen candidates, often described as the most talented field ever assembled in the Republican party.

Now that he is on his own, Steve is learning that winning isn’t as easy as I make it look. Steve had very little to do with our historic victory, which was delivered by the forgotten men and women of this country. Yet Steve had everything to do with the loss of a Senate seat in Alabama held for more than thirty years by Republicans. Steve doesn’t represent my base—he’s only in it for himself.

Steve pretends to be at war with the media, which he calls the opposition party, yet he spent his time at the White House leaking false information to the media to make himself seem far more important than he was. It is the only thing he does well. Steve was rarely in a one-on-one meeting with me and only pretends to have had influence to fool a few people with no access and no clue, whom he helped write phony books.

We have many great Republican members of Congress and candidates who are very supportive of the Make America Great Again agenda. Like me, they love the United States of America and are helping to finally take our country back and build it up, rather than simply seeking to burn it all down."

I wonder if it has occurred to Trump that by threatening to sue Bannon for "defamation by libel and slander, and breach of his written confidentiality and non-disparagement agreement" he had gone a huge distance towards confirming Bannon's account, as reported by Wolff. It's only a breach of confidentiality if it's the truth!

It's this sort of two dimensional thinking (ignoring the obvious ramifications of his own statements and actions) which typify Trump, and why Trump's self defeating behaviors may topple him before the ever cautious and plodding Mueller has time to get to get there.

How long can he keep shitting all over the people that he originally hired after he fires them?  He already has the "Worst Judge of Character Ever" award and now he's working on "Little Deluded Dope" to go with it.

Among the things that are all too readily apparent about our El Presidente is his complete and utter lack of ability to judge character.  You don't dismiss a slimeball like Steve Bannon from your inner circle without expecting full retaliation.  You want to get rid of this guy you don't fire him you Whitewater him.

We're on the cusp of an even greater freak show than the loony bin cast of characters that came out of Watergate.  Where have you gone H. R. (Bob) Haldeman, John Ehrlichman, John N. Mitchell, Charles Colson, Gordon C. Strachan, Robert Mardian, and Kenneth Parkinson?  At least what came out of your mouths during testimony was entertaining.  Although Sessions has learned how to say, "I don't recall" repeatedly.

Overheard coming out of the White House today:

"I am the very model of a Very Stable Genius.
I have a mighty button and no problems with my penius.
I have no time for television, golf, or social media
Since my brain is way way better than the best encyclopedia."

"I like to tweet the lies of racist grievances historical
When Russian ties are mentioned I deny them categorical
I do not feel the sting of words because I am avenious
I am the very model of a Very Stable Genius"

(Sung to the tune of "I Am the Very Model of a Modern Major-General".)

Satire from The Borowitz Report
Trump: I Am the Smartest Person in the Room

By Andy Borowitz

January 6, 2018

WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—Donald J. Trump doubled down on his claims of being a genius on Saturday by surrounding himself with the most intelligent people he knows and proclaiming himself “the smartest person in the room.”

Referring to the associates gathered in the Oval Office as “my Brain Trust,” Trump said, “Every one of these people is a stable genius, and I am by far stabler and more geniuser than any of them.”

Trump said that the collective brain power of the other people in the room was proof of how smart he was. “Anyone who was insecure about his own intelligence wouldn’t surround himself with such smart people,” he said. “That’s why you never saw people like this in the Oval Office when that dummy Obama was President.”

Having conclusively proved how smart and stable he is, Trump said that he would spend the rest of the day proving how mature he is. “I’m, like, the most mature person in the country,” he said, “and anyone who says I’m not can suck it.”

Yeah, but when he got to the "name the animal" section, he made a big fuss about the fact that there was no gorilla. Then said there ought to be a gorilla. Then he blamed Hillary, and said the FBI was working with Hillary and Obama to discredit him. Then he ordered the doctor to put a gorilla in the test, and also told him that he, Trump, had been elected by the biggest margin since people learned to count.

Then he pointed to his drawing of the clock and said "Nobody draws a better clock than me. Nobody; especially not Hillary."
