It's a tradition in the Navy that Chiefs get to set the time and location of their re-up swearing in. I've seen the oath taken on top of a water tower, in the bottom of the harbor, at midnight in a driving storm and inside of a phone booth. But it's *always* done with pomp and dignity...

I think the difference is that they don't get broadcast on YouTube. It's not *what* you do, it's who sees you do it. If this hadn't been filmed, it would've been a non-issue.

I'm just going to go with the whole "sock puppet" thing being a bit beyond the pale.
If she wants to bail on her oath can she say it's not her but the puppet that swore loyalty and fealty?
