Wait, how does coffee have detrimental effect on the eyes?

I only took up coffee 8 years ago after avoiding it all my life. Only to find I am one of those people who can metabolize huge amounts, ungodly amounts. full pots right before bed and sleep undisturbed all night. But of course I get all the unjust side effects one would never want.

Caffeine: Drinking coffee increases eye pressure for a short duration. A little coffee is fine, but excessive caffeine intake is not ideal. One study found that drinking 5 or more cups of caffeinated coffee increased the risk of developing glaucoma.
