When you hear real music, you get lost in it, he added, “because it sounds like God.” Spotify doesn’t sound like God. No one thinks that. It sounds like a rotating electric fan that someone bought at a hardware store.

“I really wish this interview hadn’t happened,” he later said, seeming more downhearted than angry.

“I feel horrible,” I answered, and I did.

I met N.Y. back in the late '70's in Cleveland backstage at a nightclub downtown.  Had a musician friend that used to shoot "H' with him and he introduced us.  I thought he was a dick then, and think very much the same thing now.

Never ascribe idol status to people who look like idols on stage. And never send young journalists to interview Neil unless they have been properly handled and acclimated.

On the other hand, just because you are a paranoid crank doesn't mean they are not out to get you.

It is a losing battle, sad to say.  The digital world reduces everything to 0's and 1's... missing out on the nuance between.  Awaiting the collapse, happily.

That's an oversimplification.  What if each second of audio is represented by the 1's and 0's of a 64,000 digit number?

Digital music if you listen carefully is the equivalent of a LED strobe light as compared to regular light bulb.  It isn't continuous. That is why your ears get tired of it, the constant clipping.

The world has always been simple, in the biological world things (cells) are either alive or dead, even in a hibernated state they remain alive but inactive.  While those hibernated (live) cells can proceed to either state (1 or 0) they can be shifted, dead cells cannot be shifted and are forever Zero.

All answers are Yes/No or somewhere in-betwixt, however Yes and No remain ultimate destinations.

Final Answer:  Nobody gets out of here alive...

Too much rock and roll most of my life and machinery in my early working career.  I just want sound with the treble turned to 11.

This'll sound weird if you know the venue, but watching Iron Butterfly at Tanglewood in 1967 put me off ear splitting music forever. Wood working, chainsaws and mining accomplished the same thing. My hearing's fucked.
