The film features interviews with Wiedemann and other survivors from the “hairy underground”, as Toomistu puts it. Most are men, still espousing hippy ideas and with beards and hair still flowing but grey. There are fewer Soviet female hippies, Toomistu says; many left the scene to have children.

Got to keep the women interested if you want a scene to keep truckin' on.

MH: She was Susi Ramstein who accompanied him to make sure he got home safely. She later became the first woman to take LSD.

Met Tim when I was 15, along with Allen Ginsberg.  Changed my life.  They took an hour to talk to a young guy, encouraging me to become more of myself.  Became friends with Rosemary years later.  My god, what a beautiful woman.
