Bologna is a prohibited product because it is made from pork and has the potential for introducing foreign animal diseases to the U.S. pork industry.
It's probably healthier and tastes better too. Can't have that type of competition.

There is a reason that government handouts are called "pork".
But I've seen people literally cry at customs when their 20 lb chunk of real prosciutto or jamon Iberico is taken away.
