The way it's always been, brother. A Democracy cannot exist with Capitalism. Eventually, they amass so much money they just buy the governments.

True but American Social-Democracy can still overcome that. If we focus our money on good referee's and a level playing field, as we know all monoliths eventually fall...

It's our one and only hope to have our Country serve all Americans and not just the "elite". Which is why the right is fighting so hard to denigrate S-D every chance they get. Their arguments would be laughable if they weren't so effective with the drooling masses, who have long been convinced to vote against their own benefits.
It's possible there may be a recession next year, not as severe as 2009, but a definite slowdown of our economy. Forget the Stock Market, which seems to have a tenuous relationship with the economy these days, and focus on the Purchasing Managers Index and the Consumer Confidence Index. Both are falling regardless of what optimism they print in the newspapers or Republicans say on TV and radio.
This could really doom the GOP in November. We just need to replace them with better people.

The GOP will prop up the economy up until the election; expect to see an "economic stimulus check" issued next spring giving each taxpayer a couple of hundred bucks.
Definite hard downturn after election, particularly if a Democrat wins.
