I wonder if that's where Stephen King got the idea for Doctor Sleep. At least the cat in the nursing home aspect, not the little kid from The Shining is all grown up aspect.

In 2013, I bought the Kindle version in 2019 because, like you, I hadn't read anything of his for a long time. Like last book of the Dark Tower series long time. I remember hearing about it in 2013 then forgot until they made the movie.
