Nothing personal sofaking; so fucking what?
What a fucked up way to fight a "war". In my day[!] that was called field expedient psyops.
Hey, it's Wonder Wart-Hog (the Hog of Steel).

"I come before you here seeking your forgiveness," Hammond said to tribal leaders and others at the apology ceremony. There was a goddamn apology ceremony!

Let there be no confusion about who absolutely controls the military in this 'war'. No General Officer would do that with out some serious pressure.

Cool! The troops now have a ticket home. I Koran wrapped around a toilet paper roll and they get reassigned. Let's hope they all do it now.
I destroy 30 or 40 Gideon Bibles a year, and some Books of Mormon when I stay at Marriotts. Still I have to travel for business.

Hahahahahaaaa!!! I do a lot of travel for work too and I do the same thing!!! I never come across the Book of Mormon though.... Last week I came home with six Gideon Bibles in my suitcase. It's a breath of fresh air knowing that I'm not the only one that fights the good fight..........

Nah, I don't shoot them, takes too much work... I usually just chuck them in the dumpster. I dated an evangelical for awhile last year and one time when I got pissed at her I took a picture of a bunch of torn up Bibles and sent it to her along with pictures of all the gifts she had ever given to me all torn up and broken with a hammer..... The relationship just went down hill from there...

That's hardly target practice. My copy of the Quran must weigh about ten pounds - or about 4.5 kilos, Wilber (No, you don't have to thank me). It'd take intervention from Allah to miss the damned thing.

Hey, it's Wonder Wart-Hog (the Hog of Steel).
Isn't the whole point of psyops supposed to be to find ways of fighting with minimal bloodshed, not incite more of your enemies into believing that shooting at you is doing god's work?

Getting them to act more irrational than they already are, could be a force multiplier.

I hope my boys in Afghanistan don't follow stupid regulations [they don't].
***Edit***
They are not my boys. I once worked like them

The problem appears to be that the Psyops in this case was not applied with the care some rather important commanders wanted. Apparently the ones who recieved the "message" were the very same ones we want to do the fighting for us. I do believe the man in charge now (Pretarus) wrote the book on how to win freinds and influence these people (counterinsurgency).

I am careful to wrap them in a drycleaning bag and toss them in the garbage. I don't know why, but I don't want to offend the sensibilities of the Hispanic cleaning staff. I figure they're not funding the Gideons. Who does fund the Gideons?
So I was on the mall in Boulder and some fucknut offered me a Book of Mormon. I took it and said "Thank you! I am out of toilet paper." I hope I scarred his psyche and that of all his ancestors.

The last time I was in a mall some guy asked me if I wanted to take a survey about stress in the workplace. I was about to turn him down politely when I saw his booth, stacked with copies of Dianetics. I laughed in his face. I passed the booth twice more that day, and once they were talking to a couple, so as I passed by I said, "You know they're Scientologists, right?" The guy looked pretty pissed, but I don't know why, since the couple were obviously Scientologists posing as customers.
I'm normally very tolerant of any religion, but I can't stand any religion that won't tell you who you are and what they believe up front.

I know it's wrong for the guy to shoot at the thing (.50 cal?), but maybe, just maybe it would be nice if they [iraqies] stopped bombing/shooting us.

They weren't shooting at us before we busted on in and they won't be shooting at us once we leave.

Don't you think that something like this has the potential of getting people who have never shot or bombed our troops to think about it?

Please don't talk metric to me. I don't like it, and I don't use it. Thanks.
