This is nothing compared to northern towns and "chav culture" in Britain. The NHS and various subsidies for young mothers actually make it profitable to get knocked up, repeatedly. After the "welfare queen" purges of the 1980s and 90s, there's really little like that left in the US.
The story suggests this is some sort of byproduct of job loss and a poor economy. This becomes "news" when, what, it occurs to white people?
