Forget the oysters. Texas A&M scientists say watermelon contains ingredients that deliver Viagra-like effects to the body's blood vessels and may even increase the libido.
I know there's a racial joke in here somewhere.
Here's the story

Well, if it's news about black folks, and it's from Fox, you can take it to the bank!

And this is what a typical news day looks like at Fox Noise.

I've been eating watermelon and blueberries for years. It works. Trust me. And some scientist didn't have to tell me so or tell me why... it's a tip that was passed down to me from my Tennessee granny. Although in addition to the above news, I've also learned that scientists have demonstrated that blueberries are excellent for the prostate and have a very good record of preventing prostate cancer. (Listen up, Lurker.)

I suppose just about anything is good for your prostate if you follow it up with good prostate massage. Just sayin'...

Your grandmother had a prostate?

No, my grandmother had a very, shall we say "active", husband, a happy marriage and seven healthy children. And a farm. She cooked every meal that man ever ate since he was 19, and they both lived into their 90's. I figure, why question success?

Too bad the really good stiffening agent is found mostly in the rind. I find it distracting enough to deal with a condom when closing in for the kill. I doubt I could gag down a couple of pounds of watermelon rind at that tender juncture, even if Little Phreddy was running the show.

You really do need to live in the South for a while....
Pickled Watermelon (rind)
Hell, even (damn) Yankees know about that stuff.

Don't need no fancy watermelon cure to fix erectile dysfunction. Just cut the cord off a lamp and strip a couple inches of insulation off the end. Some folks like to use a car battery instead, but DC just don't have the invigorating effect of God-given alternating current.

Watermelon gets half my garden space, grown on mounds surrounding large cans open at both ends, deluged twice a day. My blueberry maintenance has lapsed but the beach plums are fucking awesome this year. So were the strawberries, while they lasted.
I need to move, reassemble my chicken coop, build a bigger garden and start canning again. The vegtables I buy now come from China for fuck's sake.

I'm waiting for this year's harvest of wineberries (Rubus phoenicolasius), a lovely treat which grows wild along much of the roads around here. They are deeeelicious, and fortunately, are completely ignored by the largely ignorant residents of suburbia. Oh, the joy of harvesting such lusciusness, without actually having had to do any work to plant anything...

Indeed. Or just with a little sweet cream. They also make great jam, BTW.
I often eat them on my cereal in the morning. As a kid I can remember going out back along the edge of the woods, picking them off the bushes and putting them right into my cereal bowl!
