The future Prez of France has private meetings with only two senators while visiting in 2006 (one who had been a senator only 18 months) and both of who are now in the running for the presidency? At that point neither were declared.

Then what you meant to say was a "morsel for the other conspiracy theorists out there." There may be some coincidental value to a visiting French politician meeting with two American senators who, by then, may have been considering a run and sought to improve their international profiles (something they both could still stand to do more of). However, as with most such theories, I ask "to what end" and "whom does this connection serve?" The answers cannot always be "the Masons," "the Illuminati," or "our Super-Secret Star Chamber of Chain-Smoking Shadow Overlords."

I met that man in a Subway once at 2:00 AM. For a moment I thought it was someone I knew, and goggled at him stupidly. A look of horror passed over his face, and probably over mine as I realized he was someone from TeeVee. I turned around and paid him no further attention. On the way out the door, he looked up from his sandwich and gave me a smile.

Weren't McCain & Obama on some committee together? I'm too lazy to look. If that's the case, then it makes sense that they might be at the same place at the same time.

I personally tend to think it's just aquired relationships, six points of separation, etc. - which of course isn't as much fun as imagining that big money isn't going to leave anything to chance, again(see: J.Carter, B. Clinton). Of course if that is the case you'd imagine that they'd need to take a little break to get a decent chance to count up all the nearly tax-free money they've made in the last 8 years.
