C'mon man.

She's hot. If she was a liberal you'd love her.

I'd vote for her over Biden any day!!!

I'd love to see a Hillary/Palin ticket! Imagine the cat fight when Palin hoses Bill.

Wait, he goes for the "lowered expectations" types.

If she was a liberal who was just as ignorant as she is now, then I'd fucking HATE her for making libs look worse than they do already.

In fact, let's just come right out and say the obvious: Palin is nothing more than a white/conservative Cynthia McKinney.

"Dumbing down"? Around here, we now have people getting out the vote for Ron Paul write-ins, if you can believe that. Of course, that's inverse Ralph Nader, so I encourage them.

I'm going to use that in the real world, where nobody knows I didn't come up with it.

A couple, from me to you:

Obama is the Jackie Robinson of politics. If he responded to any of the attacks (see esp. last debate), he would be the Angry Black Man. Hence, cool as ice.

McCain, for all his negativism, never played the 9/11 card like Bush did. Remember the wolves attacking you commercial? That's onething to respect him for in the last month.

I just think that if they picked on someones race the way they pick on Palins sex, there would be rioting in the streets. If they used Ebonics instead of "Don'tcha know" every 10 seconds, you would have to call out the national guard.

The truth is, everybody is focused on Palin because she is the first new thing in politics in a very long time. Who wants to hear the same old stale politician or lawyer jokes. And how could you say anything funny about Biden, that lump of unanimated clay? Palin is the only candidate not either a career politician or a lawyer, so the electorate doesn't have a handle to grab her by.

Are we really going to spend the last weeks of this election talking about the Vice Presidential candidate? How about the shitstorm in the financial markets? How about how our currency is actually coming back up for a change? How about the end of the big 3 automakers in this country? How about how Iran saying the only way they will talk to us is if we leave the mid-east entirely and stop supporting Israel?

If that's all the liberals have in their game books, making fun of verbal mannerisms of someone who hasn't been buffed and fluffed for years in the political machine until they sound like a robot with a smooth answer for everything, then you deserve the stuffed suit you get.

Damn - you sound just like Obama, just substitute "Palin" for "Ayers".

Let's be realistic, Palin is a professional politician, she has been involved as an elected official since 1992, working in that field for 15 years would be considered a career by all standards; she just wasn't very notable as the "Mayor who didn't clean up the meth capital of Alaska"

I don't think men can speak to sexism in this case. I'm a politically active woman, and I don't see the treatment of Palin as sexist. It kills me that a bunch of middle-aged white men are suddenly concerned about women's issues. Answer me this: why is it that critiquing Palin is unfair to women but dictating what I can do with my uterus is OK?

As for the faux "Fargo" accent, it's fun to laugh at because it's so obviously contrived.

I don't think anyone is being sexist, either, but the fact still remains that if Obama was treated the same as Palin there would be cries of racism and rioting in the streets.

I would still wager that if Obama loses, riots will ensue. Maybe no Rodney King-level, but more widespread. Hey, if they riot in Detroit when their basketball team WINS the championship, people will riot if Obama loses. Especially since they've been told, for weeks now, that it is all but a formality now as it is in the bag.

Well, mainly because as males we are predictably single minded, to the point that we are always more interested in your uterus than anything else save your teats.  As males we have learned from an early age that protecting your image and defending you from perceived slights is a sure fire way to gain access to your teats and uterus.

All that being said, can I have access to your uterus now?

At this point if Obama loses rioting in the streets is probably the accurate response.  This one is done; tag it, bag it and let's get on with business.

Not sure what I'm supposed to be looking at here or, for that matter, why this thread is still going (all purpose election sticky thread time?).

Is ptah saying Obama hasn't been scrutinized? I'd say the Ayers thing counts for scrutiny, considering McCain's relationship with Keating and the (appropriate) lack of talk about that. Or is it the slurs thrown only at Palin, like socialist, terrorist, un-American, etc. Obama's getting a major dump taken on him--let's not pretend this is a free pass.

Oh--and what are the arrows pointing out to me? Are those steel-toed boots or something?

Common Practice: Your Agents have to have some sign on them that they are who they are, and not the intended victims of Police atrocities.  They have the same marks on the bottom of their shoes.  This has been used for years.

Wait, a military training video and a video with more media than protesters . . . so what is your point?

We did training exercises complete with vids all the time when I was a Jarhead, and that was back in the 80's and 90's; I agree we shouldn't use combat troops for these incidents, but if we are the training is essential.

(and frankly the red tape on the back and sides looks more like a media provacateur then anything else... here!!! Film him!!!!  He's going to force the issue and give you some really good segments.

I would also be happy to point out the knee pads, woodland camoflage utilities and the simple fact that those are all GI issue combat boots; this is a training picture.  The only thing I don't recognize is the unit patch, however I'm sure that wouldn't take much effort.  Not to say that silly shit doesn't happen and not to say that my arguments against using combat troops as riot control is without reason.

This was simply a really bad choice of images to make a point.

Agreed, but just remember, absolute power corrupts absolutely.  It can cut both ways.  Don't put it past Obama and a friendly Congress to launch into a bizarro world of political correctness.  If liberal students in universities can shout down and ban free speech, so can elected officials.  As the Who so aptly put it "..get down on our knees and pray we don't get fooled again."

So any parent who has a child that makes a mistake is both a fuck-up and "solely responsible" for said mistake.

I live this ideology. My brother got poor grades in high school and got in trouble (once or twice) doing some stupid shit teenagers do. His best friend was his cousin. The cousin were "the most wonderful well-behaved honor roll" child on Earth.

At around 16, my cousin was told by his parents he couldn't hang out with my bro anymore because my brother was "a bad influence".

Fast forward.... my brother holds some of the hardest to obtain certifications you can get and earns a HIGH 6 figures while the cousin just got kicked out of his trailer because he can't quit his crack habit.

Yep, my mom sure was a shitty mom and my cousins parents sure were perfect....

Nope, freud, I guess most people don't consider that because blaming parents for mistakes made by late-teen children is a pretty stupid idea. Kids fuck up and it is not always the upbringing.....

Although those Clintons sure did good with that Chelsea bitch. She was dog-ugly as a kid and turned out not so bad. On top of that, you never hear of her partying with the Bush bitches. That chick has a big future in politics, I bet.
