I wonder how old those girls will be before they're actually told what the "bananas" were. Second grade is what, about 7 or 8? Basically, there's all this stuff in the news that they can't watch, don't understand what the big deal was, and they're probably not having things explained to them entirely. Moreover, how does one explain to a child that he or she has been raped, if they're not even aware of it?

My uncle wore the red serge on the prairie for the better part of 30 years. (That's Canajun for he was an RCMP, eh?) After a few rye & gingers (typically over Xmas dinner) he'd let it be known that if every pedophile in Saskatchewan were thrown in gaol there'd be no one left to plow the fields. And since the fields were still being plowed...well...come to your own conclusions. Perhaps the same logic applies to schools. If we burn all the pedaphilagogues, we'd leave an academic wasteland - roving swarms of ignorant children and no one to throw chalk at them. If we turn a blind eye to a bit of bum-fiddley, however, a few poor kids might grow up with prematurely loose orifices, but at least they'd be educated (and at least some of them would know they're attractive). There is a proviso. Those that aren't interfered with might, in time, develop an inferiority complex. To stem this, it would be best to institute some kind of "No Child's Untouched Behind" act, to ensure a level playing field for all. I'm just thinking out loud, of course. I have never desired to become a teacher, or a farmer. I mean, they're not bad professions, but I'm much too busy with divinity school. - WCL
