Speechless.
Why use a consumer messaging app rather than government approved secured apps or devices? Is it to avoid required records preservation and later FOIA request? Some messages here used in app self delete timers.
The Trump Administration Accidentally Texted Me Its War Plans
U.S. national-security leaders included me in a group chat about upcoming military strikes in Yemen. I didn’t think it could be real. Then the bombs started falling
The reason I knew this is that Pete Hegseth, the secretary of defense, had texted me the war plan at 11:44 a.m. The plan included precise information about weapons packages, targets, and timing.
This is going to require some explaining.
In his text detailing aspects of the forthcoming attack on Houthi targets, Hegseth wrote to the group—which, at the time, included me—“We are currently clean on OPSEC.”

Amazing. The competence, the forethought, the brilliance.

Tell me again what qualifies this asshole, except for a huge donation to agent orange, to be our Secretary of Defense?

Because listen to him speak for 10 seconds. He gives Trump hope that the first thing out of his mouth will always be an attack on Trump's political enemies who have dared criticize him for his own misteps.
What else do you need to be appointed? He's perfect specimen of simmering sycophant. Exhibit A here, where instead of addressing the question of the unintentional leak, he defends Trump's very fine people quote.
Hegseth says ‘nobody was texting war plans’ after group chat breach

And NOBODY will suffer any consequences.

Or, only "nobodies" will suffer the consequences. As in the people who volunteer to defend this country.

"Who is going to lose their job?"
The answer should be: everyone in that chat that wasn't a reporter. EVERYONE.

Does he actually think before he speaks? I'm guessing "no".

Have you heard him lately? When he doesn't have a teleprompter he's down to about 200 words.
