http://uniquedaily.com

http://unknownhighway.com

http://everlastingblort.com

http://fatjerry.com

You should also stick the links to the top of the sidebar where they can be seen

Not sure I want to sacrifice screen real estate and push the images down. Could go with a larger font. They will get noticed, just not first. Please, tell me why I'm wrong.

How about Rotten.com?

No doubt you know this wonderful site.

Thanks!

Wrong in general, or just about the location of the affiliates?

I think they're fine where they are (though you might be missing at least one), but it might be a good idea not to link to so many sites that reproduce the same content. I've been seeing a lot of repeats on vidz and pix. I'm thinking, "Oh, great, so that's where it came from," but I don't really have the the patience to sort through whole sites of NSFW Threadiness.

the thing about link exchanges is, they're exchanges. Someone needs to contact the proprietors of these boards and ask for a link back

Yeah but entirely beside the point, which is to lure fresh rodent meat for the amusement of Queen RT and her Puckerstar Quadrant minions.

I think we should try to get links from sites that aren't necessarily the same demographic as we have here.  Fresh meat for the grinder.

I've been trying to think of sites that would actually link back to us and I'm coming up blank.  All I can think of are sites like rotten and spaceghetto that basically reproduce what we laughably refer to as our content.

I was thinking along the same lines with my own suggestions.

Here's another, a bit of a long shot:  http://kissingsuzykolber.uproxx.com/.  (I am generally bored to tears by sports, but the writing on Kissing often makes me laugh out loud.  Some of their readers might be Our Kind.)

However, there is also benefit in attracting audiences from similar sites; we already know they like this kind of stuff.

I got nothin' here that hasn't already been suggested.  I'm just agog that no one, especially George, has commented on the spelling of "Everlasting."

The premise might work, eventually, but content-wise the website in question is a little under-developed. And by "a little" of course, I mean "a lot." Get something going, fix up your spelling and grammar, change your effeminate name, and we might have something to talk about.

Not inspired, exactly; but Fugly now has a banner for High-Street in its rotation.

The one for the Southern Baptist Convention is also kinda hootish.

Wilber is our Resident Sonofabitch when he deigns to get out of bed.  I suspect he disapproves of your lack of gore, Cthulhu and borderline child exploitation.  I rather like your site, myself.

Considering that Les has more original material on his site than we do here (unless you count sticking a caption on a couple taped-together photos or snarky commentary on meta-aggregated weird news stories or saying bad words at each other as "original"), then I'd say there shouldn't be a problem with sticking him on the roll.

Shit it's not like a link from high street is gonna make or break somebody's hypothetically-fantastic internet career, anyway.

(You might want to work on the appearance of your website, though, Les.  It's cheap looking to go with the default black-on-white theme in these barbarous times.)

Yes, I like those things, but I also like content, and I don't see much on Lesbo's website. Just a few desultory attempts to draw a chuckle out of silly google searches and some fiction I couldn't get through more than a paragraph of without gagging. Around here, that might last a two-page thread. ALSO - Georgie-Porgie...what makes you think I EVER get out of bed?

You'll note I avoided passing judgement on the quality of his content.

It also bears mentioning that sites can be taken back off of the affiliate roll at any time by a suitably-empowered admin.  It's not like the site is coded on blocks of granite.

it's not, right?

I am pretty grumpy, today, aren't I!
But seriously...we should be selective. Links are a reflection. They should not become a craig's list for every half-baked, mildly amusing website on the Internet. In general, we should link to more developed sites, to bring us up in the perceptions of the world. Linking downward will have a downward effect - too many bad links and we'll create a singularity and disappear over the event horizon.

Because they're a flash in the pan, a momentary curiosity. It doesn't even rate at Encyclopedia Dramatica. It's not like we want the community from there over here, either.
