Unlike Europe, America spends next to nothing on public art. If it weren’t for a few enterprising individuals who try to do something about this, the average American would never encounter art during the course of their day.

No, even worse we get the mandatory "public art" that governments force developers to pay for in order to get inner city building permits. I would rather the developers were forced to build bus shelters instead of
