Can you imagine how sad it would be if her brain was developing but her speech and motor centers weren't?
Still, I'll bet Warren Buffett would pay good money to buy some of her DNA for gene therapy.

I'm sure her parents are just delighted to be saddled with her forever.

I know several like that. Rett syndrome, that's the worse. I know a gal, just turned twenty, can't speak, can't control her body (it's like her entire body is tensed up all the time) but she's perfectly intelligent, was even a bright young girl before the Rett really took over.

Orange, perhaps you and Jesus could rent yourselves out to service these young ladies, sort of like you were Unicef or something. It would be a very high street form of altruism.

I was asked by the mother of that girl, who I was fairly good friends with, to do just that. Our friendship really didn't last afterward. I wouldn't go for it, and she was embarrassed for asking me.

I could BART over and take care of that. I have a funeral parlor fantasy and she would be perfect.
