I wouldn't have suspected Microsoft however and I'm actually quite impressed. In my mind they were now the equivilant of IBM of the 80's.
I mean look how the world has turned so far:
Apple is the new Sony
Hyundai is the new Honda
Google is the new Netscape
and I though Microsoft was too tied to the corporate contracts to actually be fun anymore. They still have the best products suites on the market but have seemed to become bogged in QC morass.

Have you used Windows 7? Superfetch works pretty well as far as I can tell, except that it makes people who almost know what they're talking about think that it needs more RAM than it does.

You've seen superfetch boost your CPU %? Then perhaps you do have something stuck in your lying fucking eyes. These days disk activity can be a big performance issue, bleeding edge games notwithstanding. Superfetch helps, and the cheapest way to boost performance on a system is often to just bump the RAM. It cuts down on memory faults and increases the system cache, both of which will help keep you from having to wait milliseconds for your disk to seek instead of nanoseconds for random access to RAM.

Feel free, I'm not trying to force you to do anything, although monitoring your RAM usage has nothing to do with what your System Cache could be helping you with and/or lack of memory faults could do to improve your performance if you had more.
