This tells you something about the community. I used to live in Missouri when I was young. I never thought of it as the Bible Belt.

I did, too, in Columbia, St. Louis and Jeff City. I've never before or since seen a wider assortment of batshit nutters.

I lived in Independence, Mo. not too far from K.C. Apart from an obsession with a Civil War battle fought there, the people appeared normal. This was, however, long ago and I was probably too young to know the difference.
