The perfect name for it would be "synthahol", an alcohol substitute found in beverages in the Star Trek universe.

Think:  Instant Sober, No Guilt in the morning.  The walls of western civilization would crumble, and the Catholic Church would up and vanish.

Slight problem here - benzodiazepines are some of the most insidiously addictive drugs in the pharmacopoeia.

Nutt is real.  Check the recent info about the British Gov't move on drugs.  He was fired, and his interviews are all over the place.  Look it up.

And.... it is a little hard to read "wit", or "irony" into a one sentence or so answer/statement.  You might flag your post if you feel people are reacting differently than you want.

I am sitting here with a clinical trials researcher and addiction specialist  and he knows of Nutt. We are both skeptical of the benzodiazepines but it can well happen that some analogues do not have the same addiction properties

Anyone who has compared alcohol-free beer or wine with the real thing knows that alcohol adds character to the drink.  Near beer tasts like shit.  Rather than fuck around with fake booze, let's just pop the pills and chill.  Or, as I would prefer, wash them down with a double shot of single malt scotch.

Absolutely.  No way can Valium duplicate the high, loss of inhibition, and major uptick in intelligence that comes with an alcohol buzz.
