I started snorting all unattractive-like when I read that and repeated it to my husband, who took you literally: "I don't think that's what the video was about." So that made the snorting even worse. La la la la la lalalalaaaa.....

It's worth going to YouTube to watch it, and then clicking on all the old Soviet era commercials and news programs (I'd forgotten all about Vremya). If anyone ever feels embarrassed for how they dressed back in the 1970s and 80s, it was much, much worse in the USSR.

Why did this make me chuckle, then giggle, then bray like a retard who's just been handed a fudgesicle?

I could not tell you why if my life depended on it.

But one thing I can point to that kills me is he appears to be lip-synching.

So he really IS happy to be home! I thought you guys were kidding. The whole song's about how happy he is to be coming home to his butterscotch-colored apartment filled with wrought iron...thingies?

George, you betcha he's lip-syncing. AND pantomiming strolling.

He's only lip-syncing because he can't remember the words. I saw this guy on a Behind the Music, and he was blasted out of his skull when this video was shot.

Wait a minute. Is he the guy who became a heroin addict, bounced in and out of rehab, and now works for PETA to promote animal rights, or was that that other guy?

It’s still in mine.  Yesterday, while grocery shopping, I pantomimed and sung this song.

Her fling with Dirkman is ancient history; somehow she avoided being strangled during lovemaking.  She announced her marriage, posted a picture of herself with a big belly and has produced a sprog. If you and your sacred puckerstar would spend more time here you wouldn't have to be brought up to speed all the time!  Oh, and in case you forgot, she is distantly related to me.

I've figured Woggah out.  She is saving the Fabulous Puckstar for MR. RIGHT.  No artificial hymen for this girl, she is holding up the holy grail for He Who Will Sweep Her Off Feet.

I take it no one checks the "Dahlgren's Greatest Hits" thread anymore... except maybe Cherry.

Awww. I'll wear a hat. The bigger and stupider the better. I swear I didn't see it in the old man's bestest.

Wog, I did go off and get married and had a kid (not with Dirck. I haven't talked to him in awhile and I hope he's doing okay). She's 13 months old now. Her first and middle names are both characters on Lost, which was partly unintentional. And completely geeky.

Has my account been logged in since I posted yaaaaa yaa yaa yaaaaaa?? And now I have it stuck in my head again. It could be worse. Years ago, I got that awful Cher "life after love" robot-song stuck in my head for a couple of weeks and I got so frustrated and upset about it that I cried. I hope that mentioning this won't trigger it again.

You think it's child abuse that I sing the Yaa Yaa song at my kid at the top of my lungs? The high notes are particularly spectacular. You think she might get a complex or something?

I sing it at my cat, and it scares the shit out of him--worse than a vacuum cleaner. It's especially bad when I burst into it at volume 11 out of nowhere.

Ah, that's OK, Cherry. If it were instead any number of some of the dickheads around here as of late, I'd have taken serious umbrage. But as long as it's you, I'll take it as an example of great minds thinking alike.

BTW, my banner has only three votes. One pos, and two neg. And I'm the one who gave the single pos vote! Not to sound paranoid, but does Rogers have the capability to vote twice?

A description of how banner voting works is scattered througout the banner thread, so just read all 48 pages if you want the whole story.

Short version: voting is tracked by IP address.  Once you've voted on a particular banner, you can't cast another vote on it until an undisclosed amount of time elapses or until you change IP addresses.  If you have already casted a vote, clicking on the vote buttons won't do anything and you'll see a tooltip like so:

https://cruelery.com/uploads/72_youalreadyvoted.png

You can see how your banner is doing here.  I'm kind of ambivalent about that particular one, so haven't voted either way.
