Santeria? Now that's funny. Maybe you should stop believing Hollywood and check what something is really all about. Santeria is a Christian (mostly Catholic beliefs) religion with some undertones carried over from Africa hundreds of years ago. Although there are many Santerians who believe in sacrificing a chicken or other animal to their God and spirits (a practice which has been upheld by the Supreme Court), I have never heard of the use of human anything in that practice. I am sure I could chase up some sensational article that tries to imply otherwise, but it would be just that, sensational. Although I am atheist, I know many Santerians, and they are definitely not what people think. Just another group of people searching for meaning in this life and world. There are other religions which also still practice animal sacrifice. Asatru comes to mind among others. I can't say about what happens in other countries, but here in the U.S. nothing like this occurs unless it was some freak using religion as an excuse for murder.
