n the past year, police have responded to the neighborhood more than 40 times, ranging from police-initiated premises checks to complaints about indecent exposure. Authorities say they've made one arrest, for drunken driving.
"It's a very difficult thing to try and actually prove illegal activity, that we all suspect is going on, is actually going on," says Sgt. Bob Ray, a spokesman for the Washington County Sheriff's Office.
Those two statements, taken together, tell me that the police either don't give a damn or are being incentivised to look the other way. 40 trips in a year to a pair of bars and all they can come up with is a single DUI? They could get more than that around here staking out the elementary school.
If the cops wanted to put pressure on nuisance businesses (and from the second statement it seems like they don't) I am sure they could find a way.
But why hassle people for wanting to look at boobies? By looking busy but not arresting anyone they keep both groups happy.

The "proliferation" of sex clubs tells me that there is a wide audience for this sort of thing, and those poor people who are appalled by this activity need to wake up. They not may like it but a lot of their friends and neighbors are probably enjoying sex clubs, religiously inclined or not.
