Fortunately I don’t need to take this kind of employment. The bigger issue is that large numbers of good paying blue-collar jobs are essential for a stable society. Our industrial base has all been shipped overseas, and the few blue-collar or manufacturing jobs that couldn’t be outsourced have been filled by using cut-rate illegal labor. The one good side effect I see from increasing fuel prices is that at some point shipping manufactured goods from Indonesia or China will be far more expensive than making them here in America.

Don't many American's emigrate to other third-world countries? It's cheaper, the weather is better and if you are lucky you can hide your income from the tax service back home.

They move here for the lack of strictures socially. The only problem is, it is done by money here, not title or blood line, though I am sure that will change as well.
