Have you ever sat through one of those services? Torture is what they're all about! If there isn't a good organist there's no real reason to go.

Only those who aren't familiar with the Bible would be surprised.  The "good" book is filled with murder, mayhem, and retribution.  Most of it comes as directives from the big guy himself.  If you can view the drowning of every man, woman, child, and animal on earth (save one family) as a righteous act, a little torture is child's play.
