The place should be declared a wildlife refuge.  Snakes are a good thing since they keep down the number of rodents.  I live in a semi-rural area and have a huge king snake living under my porch.  The rats in my area carry plague, and king snakes also eat rattlesnakes (which have their place in the scheme of things, just not near me!).
